Please forgive the late update. We had a very busy holiday season with our foster dogs, cats and guinea pigs!

Our adoption totals for 2009 have been calculated. Although we didn't do as well as previous years, we were able to find forever homes for 261 animals! This total includes 220 dogs, 38 cats and 3 guinea pigs. There are many times our volunteers feel overwhelmed by the number of animals needing help and the shortage of great homes. Sitting back and looking at all the animals we have helped gets us through the tough times and helps us to continue going forward.

Mystic Krew of Mutts Mardi Gras Dog Parade

APAWS will be participating in the CAAWS Mystic Krew of Mutts Mardi Gras Dog Parade this year on Sunday 1/31/2010. The theme is 2010 Space Pawdessy. Bring your dog, or just yourself and come visit us for the Mardi Gras festivities. APAWS will host a microchipping booth where you can get your dog microchipped by a local veterinarian for the low price of $25. If you recently adopted from us and have a microchip voucher, you are welcome to redeem the voucher at the parade. Microchips are a permanent form of identification and the chips we use offer free lifetime registration and updates!

We will also be selling popcorn and nachos. Bring your pup, kids, friends and family - don't forget your appetite!
